Marc Dijk

Marc Dijk (PhD) is a research fellow at ICIS. His main research interests are innovation, sustainable development and car mobility.

As a PhD student he developed a model for analyzing paths of innovation in car mobility. His micro-macro framework with co-evolution of demand and supply emphasizes stakeholder perspectives and feedback effects, enriching evolutionary economics with sociology of technology. He has published various articles and book chapters on the framework for the case of electric and hybrid-electric cars and for the case of Park+Ride in Europe.

He was awarded the 2010 Edmund Hustinx Scholarship, a grant to support original and promising young researchers.

Marc was educated in aerospace engineering at Delft University of Technology for which he wrote his master thesis at the product development department of Jaguar Cars in Coventry, England, where he compared the product development organizations of Jaguar and Volvo Cars (Sweden). After a summer program at the University of California (Berkeley) he completed a master program on Science and Technology Studies at Maastricht University.
