Pim Martens

Pim Martens holds Master degrees in Biological and Environmental Health Sciences, and a PhD in Mathematics. Currently, he holds the chair ‘Global Dynamics and Sustainable Development’ at Maastricht University (Netherlands) and Leuphana University (Germany).

Pim Martens is the Scientific Director of the International Centre for Integrated Assessment and Sustainable Development (ICIS) , and the Academic Director of the Maastricht University Graduate School of Sustainability Science (MUST). He is a guest-professor at Leuphana University Lüneburg and a honorary professor at Stellenbosch University.

Pim Martens is project-leader and principal investigator of several projects related to sustainable development and sustainability science, globalisation, environmental change and society

Furthermore, has been a visiting scholar at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (UK), Harvard University (USA), Heidelberg University (Germany), ETH Zurich (Switzerland), and Aberystwyth University (Wales).
